How many places should you give your CV out to?

As many as possible!  First, make sure your CV is as perfect as possible: well edited, professionally presented, suitable for Australian employers.  Then, take your CV to as many places as possible that you would be willing to work at.  The more places you leave your resume, the more chance you have of getting a call-back.  Lots of businesses keep ‘drop-in’ resumes on file and look through them before advertising.  This is why it’s good to leave your resume with as many businesses as possible.

Be Proactive

Finding a job can be difficult.  It takes time and effort.  It can also be discouraging if you don’t get any interviews or call backs.

However, the real key to finding a job is to be proactive.  In other words, you need to get out there. Take your CV to lots of places, speak with lots of businesses, search regularly on-line for new jobs, and keep an eye out for advertisements on shop windows and noticeboards.

Be confident, friendly and interested.  Ask questions, speak to people and get involved.  This increases your chance of finding job opportunities.

This is the best way to find work!
