9 September 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous impact on our industry, and with the COVID situation in the eastern states of Australia deteriorating, we expect that border closures are likely to stay in place for some time. It is for this reason that the board and executive of IELI has decided to suspend operations from Friday 8 October 2021, and teaching will cease from this date, until further notice. By taking this strong and decisive step, we sincerely hope the school will be well-positioned to reopen once international students are able to return to Australia, and business conditions improve.

Supporting students impacted by this change is our number one priority. We are committed to working with our agents and partners to assist students to make whichever decision is right for them and we will continue to provide students with ongoing health and wellbeing support until the last day of teaching.

We are so proud of everything our school has achieved over the last 26 years, building a reputation as an English language school of the highest quality, with some of the best ESL teachers in Australia. We remember, with great fondness, the thousands of students that have joined us over the years, and the professional relationships we have built with our partners and agents over this time. Our sincere thanks to you all!

We look forward to a stronger and brighter future when we can reopen and welcome students to our campus once again, but until then – Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay happy!
